This is a vibrant classic style digital oil painting on linen canvas created from an original photograph. The hollyhocks are grown in my english style garden where they florish each year and are a source of inspiration. They are a hardy old fashioned variety that love the north country of Michigan.

Creating art is a joy for me and leaves me with a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Just the smell of oil paint evokes in me an overwhelming desire to pick up a brush. Many artists will say they lose all awareness of time once they start painting. Only until their body tells them it's time to quit, do they finally concede. I'm no different. Often, I find myself going to bed as the morning light dawns. Producing a work of art is an adventure. I have an idea where I'm headed, but it's never exactly the same as what I have pictured in my mind. Painting is a journey of learning and discovery just waiting for the outcome to be revealed.
