Artist's Description
A warm balmy summer's night on a lovely inland lake is the setting for this welcoming waterfront scene. The view is from the deck of a boat as we gently made our way dockside. The sights and sounds of the night as the music floated out over the water reminded me of an old Bogart movie. I was carried back in time, remembering romantic summer nights of years gone by. The most wonderful thing about this captured moment is knowing there are still places like this in the world to be visited.
About Liz Evensen
Creating art is a joy for me and leaves me with a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Just the smell of oil paint evokes in me an overwhelming desire to pick up a brush. Many artists will say they lose all awareness of time once they start painting. Only until their body tells them it's time to quit, do they finally concede. I'm no different. Often, I find myself going to bed as the morning light dawns. Producing a work of art is an adventure. I have an idea where I'm headed, but it's never exactly the same as what I have pictured in my mind. Painting is a journey of learning and discovery just waiting for the outcome to be revealed.
