Artist's Description
"Classic Lines" was originally a pen and ink drawing on illustration board. I later had it printed as a limited edition serigraph/aka silkscreen. I was inspired by the classic lines of an old Mercedes Roadster. In my opinion these cars are works of art all by themselves. My intention was to create a "gestalt". This particular approach leaves much to the imagination and allows your mind's eye to fill in the blanks. The solid black areas and many fine lines lend themselves perfectly to the silk screen method of printmaking, otherwise known as a serigraph. The serigraph has a solid layer of ink and is very high quality. Please note that this is a photo of the print. The clarity and solid lines appear less smooth then the original signed and numbered prints.

Creating art is a joy for me and leaves me with a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Just the smell of oil paint evokes in me an overwhelming desire to pick up a brush. Many artists will say they lose all awareness of time once they start painting. Only until their body tells them it's time to quit, do they finally concede. I'm no different. Often, I find myself going to bed as the morning light dawns. Producing a work of art is an adventure. I have an idea where I'm headed, but it's never exactly the same as what I have pictured in my mind. Painting is a journey of learning and discovery just waiting for the outcome to be revealed.
