Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. On the way back from a wonderful stay on Mackinaw Island at the Grand Hotel, my friend and I stopped at the Cut River Bridge near Brevort. Here you'll find a magnificent overlook of Lake Michigan. Our timing was perfect to capture this glowing sunset over the lake as we headed south toward home.
About Liz Evensen
Creating art is a joy for me and leaves me with a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Just the smell of oil paint evokes in me an overwhelming desire to pick up a brush. Many artists will say they lose all awareness of time once they start painting. Only until their body tells them it's time to quit, do they finally concede. I'm no different. Often, I find myself going to bed as the morning light dawns. Producing a work of art is an adventure. I have an idea where I'm headed, but it's never exactly the same as what I have pictured in my mind. Painting is a journey of learning and discovery just waiting for the outcome to be revealed.
