Artist's Description

Many years ago I had a spiritual awakening in my soul, a truly life changing moment, I often tried to imagine what it must have been like, to be in the crowd the day Jesus bore His cross after a beating & scourging that would have killed most men. He went all the way to Calvary, to the hill of Golgotha. I was inspired to write this poem as I tried to picture what the crowds beheld, as He passed by. I saw His face in my minds eye and then, it was as if, I was there. He turned His eyes and looked directly into mine, piercing my very heart. This poem has been in my writing folder for a long, long time. This last year I felt it was finally time to attempt to illustrate "that look of love" from my Savior's eyes. May you also be blessed. Creating art is a joy for me and leaves me with a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Just the smell of oil paint evokes in me an overwhelming desire to pick up a brush. Many artists will say they lose all awareness of time once they start painting. Only until their body tells them it's time to quit, do they finally concede. I'm no different. Often, I find myself going to bed as the morning light dawns. Producing a work of art is an adventure. I have an idea where I'm headed, but it's never exactly the same as what I have pictured in my mind. Painting is a journey of learning and discovery just waiting for the outcome to be revealed.
